The Welsh Ministers make the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 13(3) and (4) of the Local Government Byelaws (Wales) Act 2012( 1).

Title, commencement and interpretation

1. (1) The title of these Regulations is the Local Government Byelaws (Fixed Penalties) (Wales) Regulations 2014.

(2) These Regulations come into force on 7 November 2014.

(3) In these Regulations "the Act" ("y Ddeddf") means the Local Government Byelaws (Wales) Act 2012.

Prescribed range of fixed penalties

2. The range within which an amount specified under section 13(1)(a) of the Act must fall is between £50 and £150 inclusive.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations relate to fixed penalties and are made under section 13(3) and (4) of the Local Government Byelaws (Wales) Act 2012 ("the Act").

Regulation 2 prescribes the range within which the amount of a fixed penalty payable in pursuance of a notice under section 12 of the Act must fall. The range is between £50 and £150 inclusive.

The Welsh Ministers' Code of Practice on the carrying out of Regulatory Impact Assessments was considered in relation to these Regulations. As a result, a regulatory impact assessment has been prepared as to the likely costs and benefits of complying with these Regulations.
