The Northumberland (Electoral Changes) Order 2021
Made 10th February 2021
Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2) and (3)
Under section 92(2) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 20071, Northumberland County Council (“the Council”) made recommendations in a review to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England2for the related alteration of the boundaries of electoral divisions within the Council’s area.
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has decided to give effect to the recommendations and makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 92(3) of that Act.
Citation and commencement
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Northumberland (Electoral Changes) Order 2021.
(2) This article comes into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made.
(3) Article 2 comes into force—
(a)
(a) for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made;
(b)
(b) for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England3in 2021.
Alteration of electoral division boundaries
2.—(1) The area marked A on the map referred to in the Northumberland (Reorganisation of Community Governance) (Parishes of Pegswood and Ashington) Order 20124(“the Order”), which ceased to be part of the parish of Ashington and became part of the parish of Pegswood in consequence of the Order, ceases to be part of the electoral division of Bothal and becomes part of the electoral division of Pegswood.
(2) The area marked B on the map referred to in the Order, which ceased to be part of the parish of Ashington and became part of the parish of Pegswood in consequence of the Order, ceases to be part of the electoral division of Bothal and becomes part of the electoral division of Pegswood.
(3) The area marked C on the map referred to in the Order, which ceased to be part of the parish of Pegswood and became part of the parish of Ashington in consequence of the Order, ceases to be part of the electoral division of Pegswood and becomes part of the electoral division of Bothal.
