The Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (Amendment of Specified Authorities) Order 2007

The Scottish Ministers, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(2)(a) of the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 20031and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order, a draft of which has, in accordance with section 18(4) of that Act, been laid before and approved by resolution of the Scottish Parliament:

S-1 Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (Amendment of Specified Authorities) Order 2007 and shall come into force on the day after the day on which it is made.

S-2 Amendment of the list of specified authorities

Amendment of the list of specified authorities

2. In schedule 2 to the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 (the specified authorities) under the heading “Nationalised bodies”–

(a) for “Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd” substitute “Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd”; and

(b) after that entry insert “David MacBrayne Ltd”.

This Order amends schedule 2 to the Public Appointments and Public Bodies etc. (Scotland) Act 2003 to–

(a) replace the entry relating to Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd with Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd in the list of specified authorities (following a change of company name); and

(b) add David MacBrayne Ltd to the list of specified authorities.

This Order follows the restructuring of Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd from 1st October 2006 and ensures that the appropriate bodies fall within the remit of the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland.
