The Superannuation (Admission to Schedule 1 to the Superannuation Act 1972) Order 2006

The Minister for the Civil Service in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(5), 1(7) and 1(8)(a) and (c) of the Superannuation Act 19721and now vested in him2makes the following Order:

S-1 Citation, commencement and interpretation

Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Superannuation (Admission to Schedule 1 to the Superannuation Act 1972) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 2nd February 2007, but shall have effect, as appropriate, from the dates specified in this Order.

(2) In this Order—

the Act” means the Superannuation Act 1972.

S-2 Employments

Employments

2.—(1) Section 1 of the Act shall apply to the following employments with effect from the dates specified below—

(a)

(a) employment by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (United Kingdom Branch), with effect from 1st April 2006;

(b)

(b) employment by the Trustees of the Independent Living (Extension) Fund and the Independent Living (1993) Fund, with effect from 1st April 2006;

(c)

(c) employment by the NHS Business Services Authority (Awdurdod Gwasanaethau Busnes y GIG), with effect from 1st April 2006;

(d)

(d) employment by the Adjudicator to Her Majesty’s Land Registry (being employment which is remunerated from the Land Registry Trading Fund established by the Land Registry Trading Fund Order 1993)3, with effect from 1st June 2005;

(e)

(e) employment by the Quality Improvement Agency, with effect from 1st April 2006;

(f)

(f) employment by The School Food Trust, with effect from 1st April 2006; and

(g)

(g) employment by the Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner, with effect from 1st April 2003.

(2) Accordingly, Schedule 1 to the Act is amended by inserting at the appropriate places, with effect from the relevant dates specified in article 2(1), in the list of “Other Bodies”, the entries—

“Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (United Kingdom Branch)”

“Employment by the Trustees of the Independent Living (Extension) Fund and the Independent Living (1993) Fund”

“NHS Business Services Authority (Awdurdod Gwasanaethau Busnes y GIG)”

“Employment by the Adjudicator to Her Majesty’s Land Registry”

“Quality Improvement Agency”

“The School Food Trust”

“Employment by the Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner”.

S-3 Offices

Offices

3.—(1) Section 1 of the Act shall apply to the following offices with effect from the dates specified below—

(a)

(a) the Chief Electoral Officer for Northern Ireland, with effect from 1st May 2006; and

(b)

(b) the Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner, with effect from 1st April 2003.

(2) Accordingly, Schedule 1 to the Act is amended by inserting at the appropriate places, with effect from the relevant dates specified in article 3(1), in the list of “Offices”, the entries—

“the Chief Electoral Officer for Northern Ireland”

“the Scottish Parliamentary Standards Commissioner”.

S-4 Removal from Schedule 1

4. The following entries are removed from the list of “Other Bodies” in Schedule 1 to the Act—

“The Greater London Magistrates’ Courts Authority”, with effect from 31st March 2006;

“NHS Pensions Agency (Asiantaeth Pensiynau’r GIG)”, with effect from 31st March 2006; and

“Wine Standards Board”, with effect from 30th June 2006.

S-5 Employment by Her Majesty’s Customs and Excise
