The Yeovil Schools (School Day and School Year Regulations) Order 2004

Coming into force 1st June 2004
Whereas the governing bodies of the schools listed in the Schedule (“the schools”) have, in accordance with section 4(2) of the Education Act 2002(“the Act”), consulted the local education authority which maintains the schools and such other persons as appear to them to be appropriate, having regard to guidance given by the Secretary of State;
Whereas the Secretary of State has, in accordance with section 2(3) of the Act, consulted Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Schools in England;
Whereas it is the opinion of the Secretary of State, having regard to the matters set out in section 1(2) of the Act, that the implementation by the governing bodies of the schools of the provisions of this Order may contribute to the raising of educational standards achieved by children in England;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Secretary of State by section 2 (1) of the Act, the Secretary of State for Education and Skills, on the application of the governing bodies of the schools, hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Yeovil Schools (School Day and School Year Regulations) Order 2004 and shall come into force on 1st June 2004.

2. In this Order the “School Day and School Year Regulations” means the Education (School Day and School Year) (England) Regulations 1999.

3. In regulation 3(2) of the School Day and School Year Regulations, in respect of its application to the governing bodies of the schools listed in the Schedule—
(a) in relation to the school year2003-2004, the number “378” is substituted for the number “380”; and
(b) in relation to the school year 2004-2005, the number “376” is substituted for the number “380”.

4. This Order shall have effect until 31st August 2005.
