Three men hurt as vehicle crashes into Stourport wall following theft of cash machines

It was then found to have collided with a wall at The Gilgal, in Stourport, also in Worcestershire, early this morning, August 11. Three men were subsequently taken to hospital -two with leg injuries -after the crash. The road was closed for a number of hours this morning following the incident

West Mercia Police said it has referred the matter to the police watchdog. A spokesperson for the force said: "Police are investigating a collision on The Gilgal, Stourport which happened at around 4.10am this morning.

"The collision was discovered by officers who were responding to a report of a theft from a garage in Kidderminster where payment machines had been stolen. They saw a vehicle travelling away from the location and subsequently found that it had collided with a wall on The Gilgal.

"Three men were injured and taken to hospital. An investigation into the theft is also under way.

"West Mercia Police will be referring the collision to the Independent Office for Police Conduct IOPC."

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene 25 minutes later, describing the crash...
