Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1 of the Ministers of the Crown Act 1975(a), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
Citation, interpretation and commencement
1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Transfer of Functions (Irish Sailors and Soldiers Land Trust) Order 1985.
(2) In this Order "the 1963 Regulations" means the Irish Sailors and Soldiers Land Trust Regulations 1963(b).
(3) This Order shall come into operation on 11th December 1985.
Transfer of functions
2. The functions of the Treasury under—
(a) section 3(3) and (5) of the Irish Free State (Consequential Provisions) Act 1922 (Session 2)(c); and
(b) the 1963 Regulations,
are hereby transferred to the Secretary of State.
Supplementary
3.—(1) The Schedule to this Order (which contains amendments and repeals consequential on or incidental to the transfer of functions effected by Article 2) shall have effect.

(c) 1922 c. 2 (13 Geo. 5 (Session 2)).
(2) This Order shall not affect the validity of anything done by or in relation to the Treasury before the coming into operation of this Order, and anything which at the time of the coming into operation of this Order is in process of being done by or in relation to the Treasury may, if it relates to any functions transferred by this Order, be continued by or in relation to the Secretary of State.
(3) Any approval given or other thing whatsoever done by the Treasury for the purpose of any functions transferred by this Order, if in force at the coming into operation of this Order, shall have effect, so far as required for continuing its effect after the coming into operation of this Order, as if given or done by the Secretary of State.

SCHEDULE
CONSEQUENTIAL AND INCIDENTAL AMENDMENTS AND REPEALS
1. In each of the following provisions, namely—
(a) section 3(3) and (5) of the Irish Free State (Consequential Provisions) Act 1922 (Session 2); and
(b) regulations 10(2) and 13(2) of the 1963 Regulations, for "the Treasury" substitute "the Secretary of State".
