Release date- 26022019 - The placement on February 26 of the first stone of the future Campus of the Diagonal-BesOs Campus of the UPC is one of the actions that this year will give a new impetus to the consolidation and internationalization of this university space, which has as the main motor the EEBE.

In the coming months the construction of the residence of students and researchers will also be completed, and the works of two more buildings will begin: one destined to start-up and spaces of 'coworking', and the other that will house incubators and companies of green economy, within the framework of the Barcelona Energia project.

In September 2016 the Diagonal-BesOs Campus of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) , BarcelonaTech (UPC) , with 3,500 students and 400 teachers and researchers from the School of Engineering of East Barcelona (EEBE) was launched. With a range of degrees, masters and doctorates, focused on biomedical, electrical, industrial and automatic electronics, of energy, mechanics, chemistry and materials . In addition to the teaching activity (7 undergraduate studies, 6 master's degrees and 4 doctoral programs), at the EEBE are also linked 41 groups and research centers in different fields of engineering (biomedicine, electricity, electronics and automation, energy, materials, mechanics, chemistry and nanotechnology) . One of these groups is also a member of the TECNIO network of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

At the moment, EEBE is the main motor of the Diagonal-BesOs Campus. This space of innovation and knowledge, located between Barcelona and Sant Adria de BesOs, is one of the most powerful university campuses in sustainable engineering in Catalonia, with more than 150,000 m 2Building roof to accommodate teaching, research, innovation, business activity and services to the university community. The Campus has also been set up with the desire to have a significant impact on the territory, and as a driving force for social and economic transformation.

The first phase of the Campus took place in three buildings: the EEBE (building A) , with 27,979 m 2 of surface area, where the teaching activities are concentrated, and the services and spaces of management; and the research buildings (C )...
