An Act to confer powers on the Secretary of State for the
Environment to grant a lease of land and buildings on
the Victoria Embankment to the University of London
King's College; and for other purposes.

HEREAS pursuant to the provisions of section 73 of
the Thames Embankment Act 1862, the land described

in the Schedule to this Act was annexed to and formed
part of Somerset House and by virtue of the said section and
of the provisions of certain other enactments was under the
management of the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Works and
Public Buildings until 1872:
And whereas the said land in 1872 immediately adjoined the
buildings of the Governors and Proprietors of King's College,
