We tried Kopparberg non-alcoholic cider -and had one criticism

And it did make a very long month that little bit sweeter

Following rave reviews after its launch, the limited-edition flavour in the summer of 2021 has now become a permanent fixture on supermarket shelves.

Billed as an "exotic twist on the classic apple-based favourite", the mixed fruit offering is now available at Tesco as 4x330ml cans and, for a limited time only, at select Asda stores.

"Mixed Fruit Tropical cider has risen from a limited-edition summer launch to become a permanent fixture in only seven months," says Kopparberg Head of Marketing Rob Salvesen.

"In summer, it was synonymous with balmy afternoon gatherings with friends and beer gardens.

"Whilst we can’t guarantee sunny weather come January, we can guarantee that this flavour will bring Kopparberg’s energy and excitement to our alc-free cider range.”

When mine arrived, it came in a pristine cardboard box with a lovely matte-like finish. The ever-kind Swedish cider brand even threw in some free glasses for good measure. You can watch this unboxing in the video above.

The new release promised an alcohol-free experience bursting with the bold and tangy flavours of pineapple, passionfruit, and mango -and I couldn't wait to get stuck in.

But the first thing I noticed upon opening the can was a slightly peculiar smell.

My partner, who sat down to try the drink with me, was certain it was just a synthetic peachy pong, but I couldn't help thinking it smelt a bit like wee.

Still, I held my nose and gave it a bash, and once you get past that...
