Wife's demanding a no-fault divorce

This idea has hit me like a bolt out of the blue. I thought we were happy. I assumed she still loved me. Apparently not… … Recently we were watching one of those annoying celebrity travel programmes.The host was swanning around Machu Picchu. It looked beautiful

My wife said it was a trip she wanted to take. I muttered that I didn't think I'd be able to manage it with my dodgy knee (I injured it years ago at football).

She snapped: "Not with you!"

She then went into a long rant about how she plans to trek around the hot spots of the world with girlfriends or on her own.

When I dared to ask, "What about me?" when she snapped that a swift divorce would be the best option.

Our children have left home and our parents our dead. I know what's going through her mind, she doesn't want to get stuck looking after me in old age.

Apart from my iffy knee, I'm perfectly fine, but my poor mother-in-law (her mum) spent the best years of her life caring for elderly relatives, including her own husband in the end.

At one point she nearly had a nervous breakdown looking after her sick mother and mother-inlaw at the same time.

She died an exhausted and broken woman, having never fulfilled her potential.

My wife sobbed at her funeral swearing she'd never allow herself to be used in the same way.

How do I convince her that this marriage is worth saving and that I promise not to be a drag when I can already see a faraway look in her eyes? I'm terrified about being left on my...
