Wolves fans in transfer uproar as Bruno Lage confirms Toti Gomes stance

Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore, according to reports

Various media outlets claim Spurs are now favourites to complete a deal for the ex-Aston Villa ace with a fee of £20m likely to be accepted in the coming days.

Wolves had hoped that Traore would commit his future to the club by signing an extension to his current deal which runs out in 2023.

But the club has now accepted the chances of him putting pen to paper are remote and Wolves are now ready to cash in.

Tottenham have long admired Traore who is being earmarked to play as a right wing-back and provide competition for Emerson Royal.

Wolves boss Bruno Lage conceded recently that the situation is out of his hands.

"The club talk with him and he talks with them and they will decide the future," he said.

"I'm happy with him, it's the only thing I can say. He's focused, he's ready."

Gomes decision made

Bruno Lage has confirmed Toti Gomes will spend the rest of the season with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves recalled Toti from his loan spell at Grasshoppers at the beginning of January with the intention of sending him back to Switzerland at the end of the month.

But Toti was handed a surprise debut against Southampton last time out and helped Wolves to a 3-1 win at Molineux.

The centre-back could deputise for Romain Saiss again at Brentford on Saturday as Wolves go in search of a fourth straight win.
