Life has been pretty chaotic during the last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

We have spent a great deal of time at home -more time in our houses and flats than many of us have had for years.

Many people have juggled home working, home schooling or caring for elderly and vulnerable family members and in today's busy world there's never enough time to get all the life admin and little jobs done.

We've certainly not always had the time to think about getting the best value for money from our energy supplier -but there has never been a better or more important time to think about your bills.

The pandemic has caused many workers to refocus their family life -be that a more balanced work-life mix or putting their mental health first.

And many businesses are already rethinking office space and downsizing premises. All the indications are that the future of the workplace is likely to be a hybrid of home-working and office-working.

Home working can have a big impact on your power bills -- you're using more energy than normal and at times that you wouldn't usually be plugged in. Weekday home power use is starting to look a lot more like weekend power use.

And it's not just in your home office. Let's not forget your home is the place where you relax, indulge your passions or you get creative, be that through listening to music, streaming films or cooking. All these pursuits eat up energy.
