US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has opined that it would not be legal for the US to confiscate Russian assets.
The official said that the United States does not have legal authority to seize Russian central bank assets that were frozen after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Yellen also said that the special license granted to allow Russia to make payments to its US bondholders would not be extended when it expires next week. This could lead to Russia making its first external debt...
