In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sections 8 and 28 of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986(a), I hereby make the following Order:—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act (Fees) Order 1986 and shall come into force on 1st January 1987.

(2) This Order does not extend to Northern Ireland.

(3) In this Order "the Act" means the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.

2. The annual fee payable by the holder of a certificate issued under section 6 of the Act in respect of any calendar year during the whole or part of which the certificate is in force shall consist of the fixed element specified in Article 3 below and the additional element calculated in accordance with Article 4 below.

3. The fixed element shall be £100, payable on each occasion that an annual fee falls due.

4. The additional element shall be £67, payable for each person who holds—

(a) a personal licence which specifies the establishment to which the certificate relates as the place where that licence is primarily available; or

(b) a licence which is treated as a personal licence under paragraph 1 of Schedule 4 to the Act and which names the establishment to which the certificate relates as the only or first-named place where that person is authorised to perform experiments,

(a) 1986 c. 14.

at any time during the period to which the fee relates when the certificate is in force or the establishment is treated as a designated establishment under paragraph 4 of Schedule 4 to the Act.
