In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7(1), (2)(a), (3) and (5) of the Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976(a) (hereinafter referred to as the "1976 Act") and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf and after consultation with such organisations as appear to me appropriate as representing any interests concerned, I hereby make the following regulations:—
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) These regulations may be cited as the Agriculture (Adaptation of Enactments) (Scotland) Regulations 1977, shall come into operation on 1st April 1978 and shall have effect as regards the Acts mentioned in Schedule 1 to these regulations on 1st April 1978, and as regards the Act mentioned in Schedule 2 to these regulations on 1st June 1978.
(2) In these regulations any reference to an enactment is a reference to it as amended and includes a reference to it as applied by or under any other enactment.
(3) The Interpretation Act 1889(b) shall apply for the interpretation of these regulations as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
Adaptation of enactments
2. Of the Acts mentioned in Column 1 of Schedules 1 and 2 to these regulations (being enactments defined in section 7(7) of and mentioned in Schedule 3 to the 1976 Act) the provisions specified in Column 2 of those Schedules shall be amended by substituting, where they occur, for the amounts, rates or expressions specified in Column 3 of the said Schedules, the amounts, rates or expressions specified in Column 4 of the said Schedules.
