Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 7(2)(b) of the Antarctic Treaty Act 1967. is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
1. For the purposes of the Antarctic Treaty Act 1967, the areas specified in the Schedule to this Order, being certain of the areas listed in Annex B to Schedule 2 to the said Act, are designated as Specially Protected Areas.

2. This Order may be cited as the Antarctic Treaty (Specially Protected Areas) Order 1968 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1968.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
This Order designates as Specially Protected Areas for the purposes of the Antarctic Treaty Act 1967 certain of the areas in the Antarctic which have been recommended for inclusion in Annex B to the Agreed Measures for the Conservation of Antarctic Fauna and Flora (Schedule 2 to the Act) in pursuance of Article IX(1) of the Antarctic Treaty.
