Application for solicitor’s charging order

(s. 73 Solicitors Act 1974)

Parties should use the Part 8 Claim Form N208 and include in the “Details of claim” section the following:

“. . . . . orders under section 73 of the Solicitors Act 1974:

1. declaring that the claimant is entitled to a charge on the following property recovered or preserved through his instrumentality for his assessed costs in relation to the subject matter or proceeding in this court entitled (set out the full title and claim number). The property on which a charge is sought is (specify the recovered or preserved property); and

2. for assessment of those costs and for raising money to pay or for paying them out of the recovered or preserved property namely (specify the means sought for doing so) or otherwise as the court thinks fit.
