The Appropriation (No. 2) (Northern Ireland) Order 1999

Whereas a draft of this Order has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament: Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the1Northern Ireland Act 1974 and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

S-1 Title and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Appropriation (No. 2)(Northern Ireland) Order 1999 and shall come into operation forthwith.

S-2 Interpretation

Interpretation

2. The 2Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954 shall apply to Article 1 and the following provisions of this Order as it applies to a Measure of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

S-3 Issue of sum out of the Consolidated Fund for the year ending 31st March 2000

3. The Department of Finance and Personnel may issue out of the Consolidated Fund and apply towards making good the supply granted to Her Majesty for the service of the year ending on 31stMarch 2000 the sum of four thousand, two hundred and eighty-two million, four hundred and eighteen thousand pounds.

4.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2), the Department of Finance and Personnel may borrow on the credit of the aforesaid sum, any sum or sums not exceeding in the whole two thousand, one hundred and forty-one million pounds.

(2) Any money so borrowed shall be repaid, with any interest due thereon, out of the Consolidated Fund at any date not later than 31st March 2000.

S-5 Appropriation of grants

Appropriation of grants

5.—(1) The sum granted by Article 3 out of the Consolidated Fund is appropriated for the several services and purposes specified in Schedule 1.

(2) In addition to the sum granted by Article 3 out of the Consolidated Fund, there may be applied as appropriations in aid of the grants for the several services and purposes specified in Schedule1, the sums respectively specified in the third column.

6. The enactments mentioned in Schedule 2 are hereby repealed to the extent specified in the third column of that Schedule.

For expenditure on the Training and Employment Agency for administrative costs, youth and adult training, training in skills, management and enterprise training, community projects, redundancy payments to Action for Community Employment core workers, training to improve company competitiveness, and employment schemes and services including those for people with disabilities.
