The Financial Reporting Review Panel (FRRP) has been given legal powers to require companies, directors and auditors to provide documents, information and explanations if it appears that there is, or may be, a question over whether accounts comply with reporting requirements.

These powers were provided under the Companies (Audit, Investigations and Community Enterprise) Act 2004.
