Chartered and Other Bodies (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1941

(4 & 5 Geo. 6.) CHAPTER 19.

An Act to enable powers conferred by section two of the Chartered and Other Bodies (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1939, to be exercised with respect to certain bodies incorporated by Royal Charter.

Be it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. Section two of the Chartered and Other Bodies (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1939, shall have effect as if after subsection (2) thereof there were inserted the following subsection:—

2A

‘(2A). Where the term of office of members or officers of any corporation incorporated by Royal Charter, or the election of new members or officers of such a corporation, or the filling of vacancies among such members or officers, is regulated by any Act of Parliament, the powers conferred by the foregoing provisions of this section may be exercised in relation to the corporation as if it had been constituted by an Act.’

2. This Act may be cited as theChartered and Other Bodies (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1941, and this Act and the Chartered and Other Bodies (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1939, may be cited together as the Chartered and Other Bodies (Temporary Provisions) Acts, 1939 and 1941.
