Claim form for an order that a memorandum of satisfaction be written of the registered copy of a Bill of Sale

(Bills of Sale Act 1878, s.15; PD8A paragraph 11.2)

Parties should use the Part 8 Claim Form N208 and include the following in the “Details of claim” section of the claim form:

“A Bill of Sale was made between (names and addresses of parties as stated in the Bill) on (date) to secure the sum of £ . The debt for which the Bill of Sale was given as security has been satisfied or discharged. [The [grantee] [assignee] has [failed] [refused] to consent to an order that a memorandum of satisfaction be written on the registered copy of the Bill.] or [The claimant has been unable to obtain the consent of the [grantee] [assignee] to an order than a memorandum of satisfaction be written on the registered copy of the Bill.] The claimant accordingly seeks such an order under section 15 of the Bills of Sales Act 1878.
