HEREAS
an Act was passed
in
the Session
of
Parlia-
ment held in the Third and Fourth Years
of
the Reign
of
Her present Majesty Queen
Victoria,
intituled

Middlesex,
in
continuation
of
the new
Street
from
Farringdon Street
in
the City
of
London
:
And whereas another Act was passed in the
Session
of
Parliament held
in
the Fifth and Sixth Years
of
the Reign
of
Her
said
present Majesty, intituled
An
Act
to alter and amend the

And whereas it is expedient that Power
should be granted to the Commissioners appointed by the
said
first-
recited Act to make an Extension of the said Street to
Clerlrzensell
Green,
and also to form Three new Streets
fiom
and out
of
the said
last-mentioned Street
:
And
whereas it
is
also
expedient that
the
Period granted by tlie said first-recited Act for the Purchase
of'
the
Lands,
Houses,
and
other Property
by
such Act authorized to be
purchased
should
be extended, and that some
of'
the
Provisions
of'
the said recited Acts should be altered and amended
;
but

Purposes aforesaid cannot
be
effected without the Aid and Authority
of Parliament
:
May it, therefore please Your Majesty that it may be
enacted
;
and be it enacted
by
the Queen's most Excellent Majesty,
by and with the Advice and Consent
of
the Lords Spiritual and
Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and
by the Authority of the same, That all the Provisions, Nlatters,
and Things contained in the said recited Acts,
so
far
as
the same are
now in force, and except such
of
them as are by this Act repealed,
altered, or otherwise provided for, shall extend to this Act, and to
the several Purposes and Things hereby authorized to
be
done,
as
fully
and effectually as if the same Provisions, Matters, and Things
were repeated and re-enacted in this
Act
in reference to such Purposes
and Things.

And be it enacted, That, subject to the Provisions and Restric-
tions in the said recited ,4cts and this Act contained, it shall be
lawful for the Commissioners,
so
soon as the said Street to

which said Extension and new Streets will be situate in the Parishes

James Clerkenwell,

Andrew
Holborn,
and
Saint
Sepulchre,
or some
of
them, in the County of
Middlesex,
and for the Purposes
aforesaid to enter upon, take, 'and use the Lands mentioned in the
Schedule
(A.)
to this Act annexed.

,4nd be it enacted, That all and every the Powers, Clauses,
and Provisions in
the
said recited Acts contained for enabling the

Commissioners to purchase, agree for, or compel and complete

Purchases for the Lands thereby authorized to be taken, and also
Lands,

for regulating and directing the Ascertainment of and the Applica-

Conveyance or other Assurance thereof to the Commissioners,

whatever 'Tenure
the
same may be, or whatever may be the Interest
so
purchased, and for Entry and obtaining Possession
of
such Lands,
and all other Powers whatsoever in the said recited Acts contained in
any Manner affecting the hlode of obtaining Possession
of
Lands,
shall be and the same are hereby extended to the Commissioners, as
far as regards the Lands to be purchased
by
them under this Act.

IV.
And be it enacted, That the Powers of the Commissioners for
the compulsory Purchase or taking
of
Lands for the making
of
such
Extension and new Streets shall not be exercised after the Expiration
of Five Years from the passing of this Act.

And be it enacted, That the Period by the first-recited Act

shall be and the same is hereby extended and enlarged until the
Twenty-third Day of
July
