PROBATION

The Combined Probation Areas (Powys) Order 1991

Made 20th March 1991

Coming into force 2nd April 1991

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 54(4) of, and paragraph 1 of Schedule 3 to, the Powers of Criminal Courts Act 19731, and after the consultation required by that paragraph, I hereby make the following Order:

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Combined Probation Areas (Powys)...

1. This Order may be cited as the Combined Probation Areas (Powys) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 2nd April 1991.

S-2 That part of Schedule 2 to the Combined Probation Areas Order...

2. That part of Schedule 2 to the Combined Probation Areas Order 19862which relates to the Powys Probation Committee shall be amended by—

(a) omitting the entries in respect of the petty sessions areas of Builth, Crickhowell, East Radnor, Llanidloes, Rhayader and Talgarth; and

(b) substituting in column 3—

(i) “2” for “1” in the entry in respect of the petty sessional division of Brecon,

(ii) “2” for “1” in the entry in respect of the petty sessional division of Llandrindod Wells,

(iii) “2” for “1” in the entry in respect of the petty sessional division of Newtown,

(iv) “2” for “1” in the entry in respect of the petty sessional division of Welshpool.

S-3 The three members of the Powys Probation Committee appointed...

3. The three members of the Powys Probation Committee appointed before 2nd April 1991 by the justices for the petty sessional divisions of Brecon, Crickhowell and Talgarth shall decide by agreement, or in default of agreement by lot, which two of them shall continue to hold office as if they had been appointed by the justices for the new petty sessional division of Brecon.

S-4 The four members of the Powys Probation Committee appointed...

4. The four members of the Powys Probation Committee appointed before 2nd April 1991 by the justices for the petty sessional divisions of Builth, East Radnor, Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader shall decide by agreement, or in default of agreement by lot, which two of them shall continue to hold office as if they had been appointed by the justices for the new petty sessional division of Llandrindod Wells.

S-5 The two members of the Powys Probation Committee appointed...

5. The two members of the Powys Probation Committee appointed before 2nd April 1991 by the justices for the petty sessional divisions of Newtown and Llanidloes shall continue to hold office as if...
