Companies Act, 1908

(8 Edw. 7.) CHAPTER 12.

An Act to amend the Law with respect to the holding of Land by Companies incorporated in British Possessions.

[1st August 1908]

Be it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

S-1 Power to companies incorporated in British possessions to hold land.

1 Power to companies incorporated in British possessions to hold land.

1. A company incorporated in a British possession which has, either before or after the passing of this Act, filed with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies the documents and particulars specified in paragraphs (a ), (b ), and (c ) of subsection (1) of section thirty-five of the Companies Act, 1907, shall have the same power to hold land in the United Kingdom as if it were a company incorporated under the Companies Acts, 1862 to 1907.

2. This Act may be cited as theCompanies Act, 1908; and the Companies Acts, 1862 to 1907, and this Act may be cited together as the Companies Acts, 1862 to 1908.
