THE
ROAD VEHICLES
LIGHTING
(AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS,
1955. S.1.
NO.
1984
THE Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations, 1954, included
requirements as to the position on vehicles of reflectors
and rear red lights. These regulations vary the requirements
for works trailers (defined as trailers designed for use in private
premises and used on a road only in passing from one part of
any such premises to another, or to other private premises in
the immediate neighbourhood), and works trucks (similarly
defined).
THE
MOTOR VEHICLES (VARIATION OF SPEED
LIMIT)
REGULATIONS, 1955. S.1.
NO.
1880
The
Regulations of 1950 exempted from the thirty mile
an hour speed limit goods vehicles fitted with pneumatic tyres
and
not exceeding three tons in weight so long as they did not
require carriers' licences. These Regulations are revoked, and
dual purpose vehicles, the unladen weight of which does not
exceed two tons, constructed as prescribed in the Schedule, or
so constructed or adapted that the driving power of the
engine is, or can be transmitted to all
the
wheels, are to be
treated for the purposes of speed limits as if they were
passenger vehicles.
THE
FOOD AND DRUGS AMENDMENT ACT, 1954
(APPOINTED
DAY) ORDER, 1955. S.1.
NO.
1898
S. 37 of the Food and Drugs Amendment Act, 1954,
provided that, with the exception of s. 28,
the
Act should
come into force on a day appointed by the Minister.
These
Regulations appoint the
rst
day of January, 1956, as
the
day
on which the Act shall come into operation. As a consequence
the
Food and Drugs Act, 1955, will come into force on the
same day.
