The Dangerous Dogs (Fees) Order 1997

In exercise of the power conferred upon him by section 4(1)(c) of the Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act 19971, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Dangerous Dogs (Fees) Order 1997...

1. This Order may be cited as the Dangerous Dogs (Fees) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 8th June 1997.

S-2 The fee payable to the Agency under article 9 of the Dangerous...

2. The fee payable to the Agency under article 9 of the Dangerous Dogs Compensation and Exemption Schemes Order 19912shall be £20.00 plus value added tax.

The Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act 1997 amends the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 to enable the owners of certain dangerous dogs which were not registered under the Scheme provided for in that Act to be registered if particular conditions are met. The 1991 Scheme specified a fee of £12.50 plus VAT for a certificate of exemption. This Order replaces that fee with one of £20 plus VAT for certificates issued pursuant to the 1997 Act.
