Decision by the Ofcom Broadcasting Sanctions Committee
Voice of Africa Radio Ltd for breach of Licence Conditions 2(1) and 2(4)
Consideration
of Sanction against:
Voice of Africa Radio Limited (the “Licensee”) in
respect of its community radio service Voice of
Africa Radio (VoAR) - CR070
For: Breach of the Licensee’s Community Radio
Licence in respect of:
Condition 2(1) in Part 2 of the Schedule:
The Licensee shall provide the Licensed Service
specified in the Annex for the licence period
and
Condition 2(4) in Part 2 of the Schedule:
The Licensee shall ensure that the Licensed
Service accords with the proposals set out in the
Annex so as to maintain the character of the
Licensed Service throughout the licence period
Between: December 2010 and January 2011
Decision: To impose a financial penalty (payable to HM
Paymaster General) of £1,000.00
