Injury to passenger -Excursion ticket - Special contract - Condition negativing company's liability - Reasonable notice on condition.

The plaintiff bought a railway excursion ticket on the face of which were printed the words: "For conditions of issue see back"; and upon the back of which were the words "Issued subject to the conditions and regulations in the Company's time-tables, bye-laws, bills and notices." Copies of the notices were prominently displayed in the booking-hall of the defendant company's station at which plaintiff's ticket was purchased, one of them stating: "Excursion tickets are issued subject to the general regulations and to the condition that the holder shall have no rights of action against the Company in respect of injury (fatal or otherwise) however caused."The plaintiff was injured through the negligence of the Company's servant in dealing with another passenger who was under the influence of drink.
