The District Probate Registries (Amendment No. 2) Order 1994

Laid before Parliament 14th December 1994
Coming into force 16th January 1995
The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the power conferred on him by section 104(1) of the Supreme Court Act 19811, hereby makes the following Order:—
1. This Order may be cited as the District Probate Registries (Amendment No. 2) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 16th January 1995.
2. The District Probate Registries Order 19822shall be amended in accordance with the following provisions of this Order and in this Order an article referred to by number means the article so numbered in that Order and “the Schedule” means the Schedule to that Order.
3. Article 2 shall stand as paragraph (1) of that article and, after it, there shall be inserted the following—
“2 The name of every place so specified shall be the name of the district probate registry at that place except that the name of the district probate registry at Cardiff shall be the Probate Registry of Wales.”.
4. The Schedule shall be amended as follows—
(a) after the entry relating to the Bristol District Probate Registry there shall be inserted the following—
“Column 1 |
Column 2 |
Cardiff |
Bangor, Carmarthen”; and |
(b) the entry relating to the Llandaff District Probate Registry and the sub-registries attached to it shall be omitted.

This Order amends the District Probate Registries Order 1982 so as to transfer the Probate Registry of Wales from Llandaff to Cardiff.
