The Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 (Commencement

No. 2) (Scotland) Order 1986

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 40(2) of the Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986( a), hereby makes the following order:-

1. This order may be cited as the Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 (Commencement No. 2) (Scotland) Order 1986 and shall apply to Scotland only.

2. The provisions of the Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 specified in the Schedule to this order shall come into force on 30th September 1986.

Article 2

PROVISIONS OF THE DRUG TRAFFICKING OFFENCES ACT 1986 COMING INTO FORCE ON 30TH SEPTEMBER 1986

Provisions of the Act

Subject matter of provisions

Section 24(3)(a).

Exemption from liability for disclosure of information relating to funds or investments.

Section 34.

Prohibition of supply, etc. of articles for administering or preparing controlled drugs.

Section 38 so far as extending to Scotland.

General interpretation.

Section 40 so far as extending to Scotland.

Short title, commencement and extent.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Order.)

This order brings into force in Scotland on 30th September 1986 the provisions of the Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 set out in the Schedule to the order. These provisions are also, together with other provisions, being brought into force in England and Wales on the same date by the Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1986.
