Editorial
2021 sees the 20th volume of EJPT and with it a change to our editorial team.
Rob Jubb is stepping down after five years as our Reviews and Commentary
Editor. During this time, Rob has commissioned a wide-ranging selection of
essays on important publications and sub-disciplinary debates within the field,
which amply reflect the breadth and depth of the journal’s scope. We would like
to offer our warmest thanks to Rob for all his hard work, commitment to the
journal and fine editorial judgement.
In Rob’s place, Lior Erez will be taking on the Reviews and Commentary role
alongside his duties as Editorial Assistant. Lior has many exciting ideas for extend-
ing the coverage of our reviews section; most notably, we hope to start publishing
‘Spotlight’ articles, of up to 8000 words, offering state-of-the-debate surveys
of some of the most important, and underexplored, topics in political theory.
These should serve as helpful entry points for those new to the topics, while iden-
tifying challenges and new directions of enquiry that merit greater attention from
specialist scholars. We will continue to publish extended review essays of up to
4000 words on recent publications, along with symposia on selected works. We
welcome proposals for any of the above, which should be addressed to ejptre-
views@sagepub.co.uk.
To celebrate the 20th volume of EJPT, our publisher, SAGE, is making the
most-cited article from each volume open access until 31 March 2021. These are
listed below, based on the number of citations recorded on Google Scholar as of 1
September 2020.
Finally, we are pleased to announce that we will be introducing an annual prize
of e500 for the best research article published in each volume of EJPT. This prize
is dedicated to the memory of Carlo Argenton, and is generously funded by his
family. Carlo, a most promising young political theorist with a PhD from the
London School of Economics and Political Science, served as Editorial Assistant
of EJPT in 2014 and 2015, before falling ill with an ultimately fatal condition that
led to his tragically premature death in 2019.The first winner will be selected by our
Editors and Associate Editors from all the articles that appear in volume 20 of
EJPT. The outcome will be announced in the first issue of volume 21.
