The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 4(2)(a) of the Family Income Supplements Act 1970(a) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that the proposals to make these regulations should not be referred to it(b), hereby makes the following regulations:—
Citation and commencement
1. These regulations may be cited as the Family Income Supplements (General) Amendment Regulations 1985 and shall come into operation on 6th January 1986.
Amendment of the Family Income Supplements (General) Regulations 1980
2. In regulation 2(5) of the Family Income Supplements (General) Regulations 1980(c) (amounts to be deducted in calculating or estimating a person's normal gross income), the following sub-paragraph shall be added after sub-paragraph (i):—
"(j) the whole of any Job Start Allowance payable pursuant to arrangements made by the Manpower Services Commission under section 2(1) of the Employment and Training Act 1973(d).".
