The Firemen's Pension Scheme (Amendment) Order, 1962

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsections (1) and (5) of section 26 of the Fire Services Act, 1947(a), I hereby, with the approval of the Treasury and after consultation with the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council and the Scottish Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, make the following Order:—

1. In paragraph 1 of Part III of the Second Schedule to the Firemen's Pension Scheme, 1956, set out in the Appendix to the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order, 1956(b), (which, as amended by Article 15 of the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order, 1959(c), relates to the calculation of a widow's special pension) after the words "not less than one-sixth" there shall be inserted the words "or, where the pension is granted on or after the seventeenth day of April, 1962, one-fifth".

2. This Order may be cited as the Firemen's Pension Scheme (Amendment) Order, 1962, and shall come into operation on 17th April, 1962.
