The Gaming Machine Licence Duty (Exemptions) Order 1983

The Commissioners of Customs and Excise, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by paragraph 3 of Schedule 4 to the Betting and Gaming Duties Act 1981(a) (hereinafter called "the Act") and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Gaming Machine Licence Duty (Exemptions) Order 1983, and shall come into operation on 6th February 1984.

2. In paragraph 2 of Schedule 4 to the Act (exemption from the requirement for a gaming machine licence for the provision of a gaming machine at a pleasure fair)—

(a) in sub-paragraph (2)(b), for "£1" (in both places) there shall be substituted "£1.50", and for "£2" (in both places) there shall be substituted "£3"

(b) in sub-paragraph (3) for "£2" (in all three places), there shall be substituted "£3" and

(c) in sub-paragraph (4), for "£1" there shall be substituted "£1.50".
