THE GOODS AND SERVICES (PRICE CONTROL) (ISLE OF MAN) ORDER, 1943.

His Majesty, in pursuance of Section 1 of the Isle of Man War Legislation Act, 1939, and of all powers enabling Him in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, that the Prices of Goods Act, 1939, as amended by the Goods and Services (Price Control) Act, 1941, shall extend to the Isle of Man subject to the modifications and adaptations specified in the Schedule at the foot hereof.

This Order shall be cited as "The Goods and Services (Price Control) (Isle of Man) Order, 1943."

SCHEDULE

1. For the words "Board of Trade" and "Board" wherever the same appear in such Acts there shall be substituted the word "Governor".

2. References in such Acts to the Merchandise Marks Act, 1887, shall refer to the Merchandise Marks Act, 1898, an Act of Tynwald.

3. Where the reference to the Board is followed by a plural verb there shall be substituted the corresponding singular verb, and where such Acts refer to the said Board as "they" or "them" there shall be substituted the word "he" or "him".

4. For the words "Director of Public Prosecutions" there shall be substituted the words "Attorney General".

5. For the word "indictment" there shall be substituted the word "information".

6. For section 8 of the Prices of Goods Act, 1939, the following section shall be substituted:—

"8.—(1) The Governor shall appoint a price-regulation committee having power to exercise their functions in respect of such localities, as the Governor may think requisite or expedient for the effective enforcement of the provisions of this Act.

(2) It shall be the duty of the price-regulation committee to enforce the provisions of this Act, and to give to any person who alleges a contravention of any of the provisions of section one of this Act an opportunity of making representations to them, and if so requested by that person of being heard by them.

(3) Where it appears to the price-regulation committee that there has been a contravention of any of the provisions of section one of this Act and the committee, after giving to the alleged offender an opportunity of making...
