There is an old political adage that
oppositions don’t win elections;
governments lose them. If that is
true, Britain’s Labour Party must
be feeling very confident. The Conservative
government had three Prime Ministers
in 2022 alone, with Liz Truss lasting just
46 days before her catastrophic crashing
of the economy cost her the top job.
Huge numbers of public sector workers
have been on strike demanding better
working conditions, increased funding and
improved pay and pension rights.

Labour is odds-on to win the next general election, but Sir Keir
Starmer has yet to set out a clear vision for Britain. Will his party

for Boris Johnson (before being given the
role) to Nadim Zahawi’s tax affairs. And
that’s before we come to Dominic Raab’s
bullying allegations and Suella Braverman’s
resignation after breaching the Ministerial
Code and returning to Cabinet six days
later. All of this is coupled with a cost-of-
living crisis, high inflation, low productivity
