Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 109(d) of the National Health Service Act 1977(a), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Health Service Commissioner for England (Rural Dispensing Committee) Order 1983 and shall come into operation on 25th August 1983.

2. The special health authority established by the Rural Dispensing Committee (Establishment and Constitution) Order 1983(b) and known as the Rural Dispensing Committee is hereby designated as an authority to which section 109 of the National Health Service Act 1977 (bodies subject to investigation by Health Service Commissioner) applies.

(a) 1977 c. 49; in section 109, paragraph (bb) was inserted by paragraph 72 of Schedule 1, and paragraph (g) was repealed by paragraph 7 of Schedule 2 and by Schedule 7, to the Health Services Act 1980 (c. 53).

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Order.)

This Order designates the Rural Dispensing Committee as an authority to which section 109 of the National Health Service Act 1977 applies so that the Health Service Commissioner for England may investigate complaints which relate to that Committee or its officers.
