CIMA is succeeding internationally and awareness of its reputation keeps on growing. This circle of success is because of our members and students and for them, too.

A significant part of our strategy for global growth is based on achieving positive and differentiated brand recognition wherever we operate. In doing so, we'll continue to expand our membership, allowing reinvestment to deliver our current business plan and longer-term strategy.

Literally building on our success, we have recently expanded and modernised offices in Sri Lanka and relocated our offices in Dublin, Hong Kong, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. We will also be opening a new office in Shanghai in the next few months. All these premises, which have been chosen to enhance our brand's image, provide more effective and efficient facilities for staff and members operating in these regions.

Another of our routes to success is based on making alliances with other parties to develop our plans, ideas and knowledge. In particular, we use a range of international forums to promote our technical programme. The institute recently presented its widely acclaimed approach to enterprise governance and the development of the CIMA strategic scorecard to business leaders in Shanghai and Auckland. As part of our initiative to grow in India, the president of CIMA Australia recently attended a successful meeting with business leaders in India. There was also a successful forum in Hong Kong.

Together with branch members, I recently had the privilege of promoting the institute's commitment to operating and financial reviews at a series of meetings with CFOs, CEOs, government officials and academics in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
