Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 36 of the Immigration Act 1971 (a) as extended by section 53(5) of the British Nationality Act 1981(b), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—
1. This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Guernsey) (Variation) Order 1982 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1983.
2. The Immigration (Guernsey) Order 1972(c) shall be varied in accordance with the provisions of the Schedule to this Order.

Article 2
SCHEDULE
VARIATIONS TO THE IMMIGRATION (GUERNSEY) ORDER 1972
1. In Article 2, there shall be added at the end the following paragraph:—
"(2) In this Order, "the 1971 Act" means the Immigration Act 1971 and "the 1981 Act" means the British Nationality Act 1981.".
2. After Article 3 there shall be inserted the following Article:—
"4. The provisions of the 1981 Act mentioned in section 53(7)(a) and (b) of that Act shall extend to the Bailiwick of Guernsey with such exceptions, adaptations and modifications as are specified in the Schedule hereto.".
3.—(1) The Schedule shall be varied in accordance with the following provisions of this paragraph.
(a) 1971 c. 77.
(b) 1981 c. 61.
(c) S.I. 1972/1719.
(2) In paragraph 1(1), for "the Act or any provision thereof" there shall be substituted "the 1971 Act or any provision thereof or to any of the provisions of the 1981 Act mentioned in section 53(7)(a) and (b) of that Act", and in paragraph 2(2), after "the following provisions" there shall be inserted "of the 1971 Act".
(3) In paragraph 3(2), there shall be added at the end ", or to a United Kingdom passport".
(4) After paragraph 5, there shall be inserted the heading "THE 1971 ACT".
(5) Paragraph 7 shall be omitted.
(6) In paragraph 8, there shall be added at the end the following sub-paragraph:—
"(4) Nothing in paragraph 3 of this Schedule shall affect the reference in section 3(9)(a) (as inserted by section 39(3) of the 1981 Act) to the right of abode in the United Kingdom.".
(7) In paragraph 12, for sub-paragraph (5) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph:—
"(5) In section 8(5) and (5A) (as respectively amended and inserted by section 39(4) of and...
