The Immigration (Transit Visa) (Amendment No. 2) Order 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1A(1) and (2) of the Immigration (Carriers' Liability) Act 1987, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Transit Visa)...
1. This Order may be cited as the Immigration (Transit Visa) (Amendment No. 2) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 10th April 1998.
2. For the Schedule to the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993there shall be substituted the Schedule to this Order.

Article 2 of the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993 shall be...
3. Article 2 of the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993 shall be amended by the insertion, after the words “Northern Cyprus”, of the words “or the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,”.

COUNTRIES OR TERRITORIES WHOSE NATIONALS OR CITIZENS NEED A VISA FOR PASSING THROUGH THE UNITED KINGDOM

This Order amends the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993 (as amended by the Immigration (Transit Visa) (Amendment) Orders 1996 and 1998) by adding the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to the list of countries or territories whose nationals or citizens need a visa for passing through the United Kingdom. It further amends the Immigration (Transit Visa) Order 1993 by requiring persons who hold travel documents issued by the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia to have a visa for passing through the United Kingdom. It also updates reference in that list to Zaire by substituting that country’s new name, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It also revokes two spent Instruments.
