Indian Divorce Act, 1945

(9 & 10 Geo. 6.) 5.

An Act to validate certain proceedings for dissolution of marriage in the High Court in Bombay.

Be it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. The High Court in Bombay shall, in and in relation to any proceedings instituted therein before the passing of this Act, exercise and be deemed always to have been entitled to exercise all such jurisdiction as would have been exercisable by that Court if the State of Hyderabad had at all times been within the area which is, in relation to that Court, the appropriate area for the purposes of section six of the Indian and Colonial Divorce Jurisdiction Act, 1940.
