The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 21 of Part III of Schedule 1 to the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act 1974(a), as amended by paragraph 23 of Part III of Schedule 16 to the Employment Protection Act 1975(b), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with the Council on Tribunals hereby makes the following Regulations amending the Industrial Tribunals (Labour Relations) Regulations 1974(c), as amended (d), (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Regulations"):—
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Industrial Tribunals (Labour Relations) (Amendment) Regulations 1977 and shall come into operation on 1st July 1977.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889(e) shall apply to the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
Amendment of principal Regulations
2. Regulation 2(2) of the principal Regulations shall be further amended by adding to the definition of "the Commission" after the word "1975" the words "or, as the case may be, the Commission for Racial Equality established under section 43 of the Race Relations Act 1976(f)."
3. In Rule 2(2) of the Schedule to the principal Regulations after the words "the 1965 Act," there shall be inserted the words "or under section 38 or 46 of the Employment Protection Act 1975".

4. Rule 6 of the Schedule to the principal Regulations shall be further amended by adding to paragraph (5) after the word "enactment" the words "or, as the case may be, out of the Maternity Pay Fund.".
5. Rule 9 of the Schedule to the principal Regulations shall be further amended by substituting in paragraph (2) for the words "of the entry of a decision in the Register" the words "on which the decision was sent to the parties".
6. Rule 14 of the Schedule to the principal Regulations shall be further amended by adding to paragraph (6) after the word "1975" the words "or, as the case may be, the Race Relations Act 1976.".
