The Secretary of State, in the exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3(2) and 10 of the Insolvency Act 1985( a), hereby makes the following Order:--
1. This Order may be cited as the Insolvency Practitioners (Recognised Professional Bodies) Order 1986 and shall come into force on 10th November 1986.
2. The bodies specified in the Schedule to this Order are hereby declared to be recognised professional bodies for the purposes of section 3 of the Insolvency Act 1985.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Note is not part of the Order.)
This Order declares the bodies specified in the Schedule to the Order to be recognised professional bodies under section 3 of the Insolvency Act 1985 membership of which will entitle an individual to act as an insolvency practitioner under the Act where he is permitted to do so by or under the rules of the body concerned.
