(FEFAF)
In the past few years, many international and European legal instruments concerning
cultural property have been accepted which have serious consequences for the interna-
tional trade in art and cultural objects. During this conference the advantages and disad-
vantages
of
these instruments and their consequences for both the national legal order
and the international trade in art will be discussed.
The conference is intended to provide lawyers (academics, civil servants and practi-
tioners) and participants in the art market (art dealers, collectors, gallery directors and
museum experts) with the opportunity to exchange experience with professionals from
various countries and fields. Many internationally well-known experts (Bourlet, Chiti,
De Ceuster, De Groot, De Waart, De Witte, Jayme, Lalive, Mair, Merryman, O'Keefe,
Palmer, Prott, Redmond Cooper) will give presentations. Workshops anda Round Table
shall be organized to deepen the discussion in some areas.
The fee for participation in the conference is NLG 750, including lunches, coffee
breaks, conference documentation and an entrance ticket to TEFAF (not including the
Private View). The fee, including the conference dinner on Thursday evening as well,
is NLG 850.
