The Legal Aid Board (Abolition) Order 2001

Made 27th February 2001

Coming into force 2nd April 2001

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by paragraph 7 of Schedule 14 to the Access to Justice Act 19991, being satisfied that the duties of the Legal Aid Board under paragraph 6 of that Schedule have been discharged, makes the following Order:

S-1 Citation and commencement

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Legal Aid Board (Abolition) Order 2001 and shall come into force on 2nd April 2001.

S-2 Abolition of the Legal Aid Board

Abolition of the Legal Aid Board

2. The Legal Aid Board established under section 3 of the Legal Aid Act 19882shall cease to exist.

This Order provides for the abolition of the Legal Aid Board, which was established under the Legal Aid Act 1988.
