An Act to change the Name of the Liverpool'Fire
and Life Insurance Company, and for other
Purposes relating thereto. [22d July 1847.]

HEREAS in the Year One thousand eight hundred and
thirty-six an Association, called " The Liverpool Fire and
Life Insurance Company," was established for the Pur-
poses of carrying on the Business of Fire and Life Insurance, and all
Matters connected therewith : And whereas an Act was passed in the
Session of Parliament held in the Sixth and Seventh Years of the
Reign of His late Majesty King William the Fourth, intituled An 6&7W.4
Act to enable the Liverpool Fire and Life Insurance Company to sue c-119*
and be sued in the Name of the Chairman, Deputy Chairman^ or of
any One of
the
Directors ; and for other Purposes; And whereas the
said Company have lately established an Office of Business in London,
and it is expedient that the Name or Style of the said Company should
be altered, and that the Provisions of the said Act should be amended
and enlarged; but the Objects aforesaid cannot be effected without
the Authority of Parliament: May it therefore please Your Majesty
that it may be enacted \ and be it enacted by the Queen's most
Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords
Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament
assembled, and by the Authority of the same, That the Company
