HERE AS by
an
Act
of
the Ninth Year
of
George the
Fourth, Chapter 913 intituled
An
Act for making and

maintaining a Railway or Tramroad from Gelly Gille
Farm
in
the Parish
of
Llanelly
in
the County
of
Carmarthen
to
Machynis Pool in the same Parish and County', and for making and
maintaining
a
Wet Dock
at
the Termination
of
the said Railway or
Tramroad
at
Machynis Pool aforesaid, the Llanelly Railway and
Dock Company (in this Act called " the Company") were incorporated,
and were authorized to make and maintain the Llanelly Railway and
Dock, and
to
raise
a
Capital
of
Fourteen thousand Pounds either
•wholly by Shares or partly by Shares and partly by borrowing not
exceeding Seven thousand Pounds, and to borrow not exceeding Six
thousand Pounds more: And whereas by an Act of the Third Year of 3 W.

connexion therewith, and for other Purposes: And whereas by an
c. xcvi. Act of the sixth year of William the Fourth, Chapter 96, the Com-
pany were authorized to make and maintain several other Railways or
Tramroads, including those by this Act authorized, and to raise an
additional Capital of Two hundred thousand Pounds in Two thousand
Shares of One hundred Pounds each, and to borrow not exceeding
Fifty thousand Pounds more: And whereas the Company have
raised a Share Capital of Two hundred and fourteen thousand Pounds
as follows (to wit), Fourteen thousand Pounds in One hundred and
forty Shares of One hundred Pounds each, under the first-recited Act,
and Two hundred thousand Pounds in Two thousand Shares of One
hundred Pounds each, under the thirdly-recited Act; but the said
One hundred and forty Shares created under the first-recited Act
were bought up and merged for the Benefit of the Company: And
whereas the total Amount now due from the Company on Mortgage
is Thirty-one thousand and twenty Pounds: And whereas the Com-
pany have completed and opened for public Traffic the Llanelly Rail-
way Dock and Works, by the first and secondly recited Acts
respectively authorized, and also a Portion of the Railways or Tram-
roads by the thirdly-recited Act authorized, but have not commenced
the remaining Portion of those Railways or Tramroads, and the
compulsory Powders of the Company in respect thereof have long since
expired: And whereas it is expedient that the Company be empowered
to make and maintain the Railways or Tramroads by this Act autho-
rized, and which are identical with that Portion of the Railways or
Tramroads by the thirdly-recited Act authorized, wThich has not been
commenced, and to be Carriers on their existing and intended Railways
or Tramroads, and for that Purpose to provide locomotive and other
Engines and Carriages, and to take Tolls in respect
thereof,
and that
other Provisions be made with regard to the Tolls, Rates, and Dues to
be taken by the Company: And whereas it is expedient that the Com-
pany be empowered to issue Shares in lieu of the One hundred and
forty Shares of One hundred Pounds each so merged as aforesaid, and
to raise an additional Share Capital for the Purposes of this Act: And
whereas, in order to avoid Inconveniences arising from several Private
Acts relating to the same Purposes being in force at the same Time,
it is expedient that the recited Acts be repealed, and that some of the
Powers and Provisions thereof respectively be amended and re-enacted
or continued by this Act: And whereas such several Purposes cannot
be effected without the Authority of Parliament: May it therefore
please Your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it enacted by the
Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent
of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, ajnd by the Authority of the same, as follows:
