The Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) (No. 2) Order 1994

Coming into force 30th June 1994
The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 1(5) and (6) of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 19701and now vested in him2, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and the Secretary of State for Wales in exercise of the powers conferred on him by those provisions, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) (No.2) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 30th June 1994.
Designation of bodies
2. Each of the following bodies, being a person appearing to the Secretary of State to be exercising functions of a public nature, shall be a public body for the purposes of the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970 in its application to England and Wales: Batley Action Limited Brixton City Challenge Company Limited Douglas Valley Partnership Limited Newtown South Aston City Challenge Limited North Kensington City Challenge Company Limited Walsall City Challenge Limited
Restrictions on agreements which may be entered into
3. Agreements which may be entered into by a body by virtue of this Order shall be restricted to agreements with a local authority for the supply of goods or materials, or the provision of administrative, professional or technical services, by that authority to that body, in connection with financial or other assistance given or to be given to that body by any person for the purposes of the regeneration of any part of that authority’s area.

Article 2 of this Order designates six limited companies under the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) Act 1970.
