An Act for authorizing the London and South-
western Railway Company to make and maintain
a Line of Railway from Kensington to Richmond,
and Junction Lines communicating with the
Hammersmith and City Railway and the North
and South Western Junction Railway respectively;
and to raise further Monies ; and for authorizing
Arrangements with divers Railway Companies;
and for other Purposes. [14th July 1864.]
HERE AS the London and South-western Railway Com-
pany (in this Act called the Company) have Means of
continuous Railway Communication between their own
Terminal Station in the
Waterloo
Bridge Road and Kensington : And
whereas the Company are desirous and it is expedient that they be
authorized to make and maintain the several Lines of Railway by this
Act authorized between Kensington and the Company's Railway at
Richmond: And whereas the Railways (No. 1) and (No. 3) by this
Act authorized are in this Act referred to as the Company's proposed
Kensington and Richmond Line: And whereas the Railways (No. 4)

and (No. 6) by this Act authorized are in this Act referred to
as the Hammersmith Junction Lines: And whereas it is expedient
that Provision be made, as in this Act contained, with respect to an
Alteration and Addition at Hammersmith of and to the authorized
Line and Levels, and the Rails and Works of the Hammersmith and
City Railway: And whereas it is expedient that Communication by
the Junction Line of Railway at Acton by this Act authorized (in
this Act referred to as the Acton Junction Line) be effected between
the North and South Western Junction Railway and the Company's
proposed Kensington and Richmond Line: And whereas it is
expedient that Provision be made with respect to the making and
maintaining of the Acton Junction Line, either by the Company or
by the North and South Western Junction Railway Company (in this
Act called the North and South Western Company), and for the
working over and using of the same by the Company not making or
maintaining it: And whereas it is expedient that the Company be
authorized to work over and use a Portion at Hammersmith of the
Hammersmith and City Railway : And whereas it is expedient that
the Hammersmith and City Railway Company, in this Act called the
Hammersmith and City Company, and the Great Western Railway
Company, be respectively authorized to work over and use Portions
between Hammersmith and Richmond of the Railways by this Act
authorized and the Stations thereon: And whereas it is expedient
that the North and South Western Company and the London and
North-western Railway Company (in this Act called the North-
western Company) be authorized to work over and use a Portion
of the Company's proposed Kensington and Richmond Line and
the Stations thereon: And whereas it is expedient that Agreements
between the Company on the one hand, and the Hammersmith and
City Company and the Great Western Company respectively on the
other hand, with respect to the working over and using of Portions of
the Company's proposed Kensington and Richmond Line and of the
proposed Hammersmith Junction Lines respectively, be authorized:
And whereas it is expedient that Agreements between' the Company
on the one hand, and the North and South Western Company, and the
North-western Company, and the North London Railway Company
(in this Act called the North London Company) respectively o\\ the
other hand, with respect to the working over and using of the proposed
Acton Junction Line, and so much of the Company's proposed
Kensington and Richmond Line as lies between the Junction therewith
of the proposed Acton Junction Line and Richmond, be authorized :
And whereas it is expedient that Working and Traffic and other Arrange-
ments between the Company on the one hand, and the several
other Companies with which Working Agreements may be so made
respectively on the other hand, be authorized : And whereas it is
expedient
